Reserves

Faculty may place material on Reserve in the library and students may borrow that material for short periods of time, thus allowing a large number of students access to a single copy of an item.

Accessing Material on Reserve (Students)

  • To borrow reserve material, students must present a valid ID.
  • To find out which items are on Reserve, users may search the OPAC catalog by course number, course name, or instructor.
  • Please give library staff your course name / number when asking for Reserve material.
  • We may also have some assigned texts as ebooks, so please ask the library staff for assistance.
  • Students may request a maximum of 3 reserve items at any one time.
  • Most reserve material may be borrowed for1 day, 2 days, or for one week.
  • The loan period is indicated on a sticker on the front of each item.
  • Fines and holds will be applied to students' accounts for overdue Reserve material. Fines are charged for reserved material that is returned late.

Interlibrary Loan (aka Document Delivery)

When you can't find what you need in PES library, simply fill out theInterlibrary Loan online request form.

Retrieving Materials

Requests for journal articles generally take one to three days to fill, but may take up to two weeks. Books may take three weeks to arrive. You will be notified by e-mail when your request has arrived. If the item is available electronically, it will be emailed to you.

Returning Items

Books are generally loaned for two weeks. The loan period is set by the Library. Though, we cannot extend the loan period. you can ask for a renewal by bringing the physical books to the Library.
